Is the Odogaron armor set any good in MHW? Yea it's good,a lot of peeps will recommend that armour. It's got good defenses and is especially good for fast weapons or those with a fragile amount of high sharpness, but it's skills make it a great general use set for any blademaster.

4 Odogaron Alpha

The set gives both the Punishing Draw and Protective Polish bonuses, and it is great against both fire and water attacks. Notably, this set provides the really great Lv. Critical Eye skill and some Bleeding Resistance.

The Set Bonus Skill for the High Rank Odogaron Armor, Odogaron Mastery, also grants Punishing Draw if you wear two pieces. Odogaron Mastery grants both Punishing Draw and adds Protective Polish if four pieces are worn.

Barioth armor has a good skills especially for longsword. Just add health boost 3 and you're good to go. But, if farming barioth is a pain for you, just mine ores, kill some gajau & wulg, and forge high metal armor.

Ironically Odogaron is the apex predator of the Rotten Vale, area that is filled with paralysis-related traps and monster while he is super weak to paralysis. There's two paratoads and even the small Girros will attack him when tripped mostlikely paralysing him in only a few attacks.

Odogaron is vulnerable to Ice, making Legiana and Barioth weapons good picks to use against it. It's also susceptible to Paralysis which is a good way of controlling its movements. Its weak points are its head and forelegs, both of which can be broken.

Unlike most other monsters, Odogaron lacks eyelids, so its cornea protects its eyes from injuries.

When you get hit by Odogaron he has the chance of applying the bleed affect to you. When bleeding you can use the Astera jerky to remove the affect. If you run out of jerkys you can also crouch for a couple seconds to remove bleeding.
