Can you reforge primal ancient? ›

According to Google, you can do that. It's a 90% chance to forge, um, reforge a legendary to an ancient. So the math will be to get a primal ancient.

Reforging can work but it's expensive and requires you to farm the raw materials. Run lots and lots of greater rifts on the character you want to get ancients and primal's on (need to complete a level 70 solo to get primal's to spawn). Spend your shards at Kadala on the slot specific item you want.

You can equip only 1 crafted primal at a time. There's never been any limit to regular primals.

Ancient Legendary Items

Ancient Items are a special tier of items introduced in patch 2.1. 2. These are identical to level 70 Legendary items, except that base attributes (damage or armor) and all affixes roll +30-33.3% higher values for both minimum and maximum possible rolls.

When an item drops, is crafted, gambled or reforged, it always has an average chance of 1 in 10 to be ancient and 1 in 400 to be primal. It does not matter what type of item is in question, the propabilities are still exactly the same and equal.

Primal items have the same stats as Ancient Legendaries but they always have maximum possible value on every stat. This includes special legendary affixes such as Multishot damage on Yang's Recurve or damage reduction on Band of Might.

It may take several tries, but it's entirely doable, and the odds are the same regardless of the difficulty in which you're playing. As Nevalistis explained previously, you can also obtain Ancient items from Kadala, and it's possible for Horadric Cache-exclusive Legendary items to roll as Ancient items.

Augmenting an Ancient item (referred to as Caldesann's Despair in the cube recipes) is a method of adding additional stats to gear. The cube recipe requires 3 components - an ancient item, 3 perfect gems (ruby, topaz, emerald, or amethyst) of the same type, and a legendary gem.

Only one upgraded Primal Item may be worn at a time and upgraded Primal Items do not retain the properties of the Legendary Item that was used.

Can set items be primal ancient? ›

Yes, Set pieces can spawn as Primals. They have the same drop rate as regular Primal ancients. The higher the Torment level, the higher your drop chance is.

If the amount of Ancient and Legendary are equal, then their rarity is equal. Currently, there are only 2 Ancient cookies and 1 Legendary Cookies, which means Legendaries are rarer than Ancients. And just one Legendary have 0,362% chance.

Legendary is a higher rarity of item than mythical. However, better is very subjective. Better to some could mean value. For others it could mean aesthetics.

Each rarity suggests the item's power and uniqueness. With that in mind, yes, mythic items are indeed better than legendary ones. They're rarer and pack more of a punch in gameplay. Mythic items often come with abilities or stats that are a notch above their legendary counterparts.
