Why is it Good?
The Defender Katana V isn't the best weapon around but it's decent statline and a blast status ability allows it to be a good contender for a good chunk of Iceborne's early game. It's crafting materials are also pretty easy to get so it's going to be a staple equipment to have if this is your weapon of choice at the start of the game.

Why is it Good?
While its raw damage isn't that much higher than the Defender Katana V, it does come with a little bit of purple sharpness (it can be maximized with Handicraft jewels) and it also comes with the paralysis status ailment which can make an opportunity to use Spirit Slash to charge your weapon. It can also be upgraded further once you have slain an Acidic Glavenus so it's a good weapon to invest in until you reach the later stages of the game.

Why is it Good?
The Lightbreak Edge is one of the highest damaging Longswords available for you near the end game content of MHW Iceborne. It's also pretty easy to craft (compared to other alternatives), as long as you're able to defeat a Raging Brachydios, this longsword can easily be wielded by your hunter.

Why is it Good?
The Fatalis Zaggespanon is the highest raw damage weapon for all weapons in Monster Hunter World. This is coupled by a -30% affinity but with a Critical Draw 3 Skill and a maxed out Critical Eye, the -affinity can easily be offset and can even reach the 100% affinity level. This allows you to get the best of both critical damage and high raw firepower.
