The Fallout series is full of easter eggs and rare items players can collect. What's different about Fallout 76's rare items is that, sometimes, they feel as though they just weren't meant to be found. As with other titles in the franchise, it features common, uncommon, and rare items players can find. Dedicated players and CAMP-building experts will want to see it all. In addition, though, Fallout 76 includes some real scarcities and the chances of stumbling across them accidentally are very slim.

These items fit in really well with the context of the game. The unfortunate thing is that some players have made the mistake of underestimating their finds and ended up giving them away for less than their worth.

Whether one is new to Fallout 76 or is a veteran, the rarest items in the game are always desirable. Some are better for functionality while others are better for fashionability, however, all will take some effort to obtain. Thankfully, due to the respawn rate of MMO games such as this, players will never be totally unable to get their most desired goods.
13 Plasma Grenade Plans: Search The Ash Heap Region
Most players have multiple Plasma Grenades in their inventory at all times. Even if they don't, they end up buying more. Interestingly, though, the plans to craft Plasma Grenades do exist. They're also extremely hard to come by. In the unlikely event that players find them, they can sell the plans for a fortune.
One of the more efficient ways to get them is by completing events in the Ash Heap Region and randomly getting the plans as a reward. The chances of this are incredibly slim, though, so fans have to be very determined. To make this a little more interesting, Bethesda has added a challenge that includes crafting a Plasma Grenade, which, of course, gamers can only do if they own the plans. Taking that into consideration, this is one of the most difficult challenges in the game to complete.
As Plasma Grenades deal both 200 physical damage as well as 200 energy damage, they can be very useful against a wide variety of targets--from Deathclaws to robots of all kinds, these throwable weapons can make a big difference in battle.
12 Fasnacht Masks: Take Part In The Annual Fasnacht Parade
In March of 2019, Bethesda introduced the limited-time event Fasnacht Parade as part of the Wild Appalachia update. One of the rewards for taking part in the event is receiving a Fasnacht Mask. Players either get a common, an uncommon, or a rare mask, depending on their performance. Some of these masks are so rare, in fact, that almost nobody has received or even seen them in-game.
These masks don't look very distinct from the common ones. They seem similar in size and style, but because more people are realizing their rarity, they're getting more attention. Receiving one of these could be the perfect addition to any player's collection. The Fasnacht Parade returned for the fourth time in 2021, lasting from February 16th to the 22nd. Presumably, players will get another chance to pick up these masks in 2022.
In games where all players have access to the same equipment, standing out as unique in a crowd can be tough. Thankfully, rare and unique items such as these masks can allow players to truly shine fashionably as they galavant around the post-apocalyptic world.
11 Traveling Leather Coat: Complete Daily Events In The Mire
There is a myriad of collectible clothing items in Fallout 76. These include the beloved jumpsuits, armor, glasses, bandanas, and even collars. One item has gotten more attention than the rest, though, and that's the Traveling Leather Coat. Unlike its common namesake, this item is extremely rare and hard to come by. One major difference is the fact that the Traveling Leather Coat has a backpack included in the set. This means that if players do find it, their backpack will be covered by the coat's own.
Of course, a player can always trade for this sought-after piece, but there is a way to obtain this item by carrying out daily and event quests in The Mire. Players have to be patient, though, as the drop rate of the piece is extremely low.
Fashion is an expression of one's unique style in Fallout 76 and similar games, therefore being able to swap out certain aspects of one's default attire can add great replayability to any title. Players gaining the ability to change how their backpack looks thanks to the Traveling Leather Coat is another way in which gamers can achieve their aesthetic goals.
10 Responder Fireman Outfit And Helmet: Complete Quests In The Forest
One of Fallout's most recognizable signatures is the plethora of available jumpsuits of all shapes and sizes. These can be common, rare, or super-rare, like the Traveling Leather Coat. One jumpsuit with an extremely low chance of being obtained is the Responder Fireman outfit--one of the rarest Responder outfits that remained after the Great War, and therefore among the most desired.

It's an incredibly rare reward for completing events and daily quests – such as "Thirst Things First", "Fly Swatter", "Collision Course", or "Target Rich Environment" – in the Forest or the Toxic Valley.
Nothing screams 'hero' like a Responder outfit, as it very much emulates the appearance of real-world emergency responder gear, such as those worn by firefighters. Those who appreciate these real-world heroes and their in-game counterparts can don the same garments to possibly show their respect.
9 Soiled Mr. Fuzzy Mascot: Collect 450 Tokens In The Camden Theme Park
This outfit, including a headpiece and a jumpsuit, is the dirt-covered version of the Mr. Fuzzy Mascot outfit. The reason it's considered super rare and is rarely seen in-game is that it's possibly one of the hardest items to obtain.
The only way players can get this outfit is by purchasing it in the Camden Theme Park, by completing daily challenges, and by receiving tokens. The entire ensemble costs 450 tokens and performing one daily challenge only gives 1-5 tokens, so players rarely take the time to see it through. It can be done, though, and those who have unlocked it can show off this grim outfit.
While more filthy in appearance to the regular Mr. Fuzzy Mascot outfit, the soiled version represents the hard work it took when performing token-obtaining tasks. Instead of being aesthetically pleasing, this clothing option is more about being unique and showing off how hard one has worked to acquire rare gear.
8 The Dragon: Purchase From Harper's Ferry Vendor Bot
This four-barrel black powder rifle is very hard to come by, but one of the more practical rarities in the game. With an extremely high power rating and the ability to fire four .50 caliber rounds at once, this beast performs the highest damage per shot of any rifle in the game.

The easiest way to acquire this weapon is by visiting the robot vendors in Harper's Ferry and purchasing one. It can also be purchased from Grahm if the player is lucky, or can occasionally be dropped by the Wendigo Cave boss.
This fully manual rifle packs a mean punch in that it unleashes between 200 to 225 physical damage with each shot--more than even some grenades! As such, players looking for a mighty projectile weapon would do well to acquire The Dragon.
7 The Wandering Vendor Bot Responder: Found Wandering In The Forest
Vendor bot Responders are located in stations. They have a large inventory that players can browse through; trading or buying from them. There is one vendor bot that is different from the rest, though: the wandering vendor bot Responder. This bot will be found in random places, unlike its namesakes who are always found in the same locations. One sure-fire way to find this bot is by staying close to Charleston's Station, as it mostly spawns next to the station in the wooded area.
The wandering vendor bot will have a smaller inventory, sporting a high-end collection of clean items and clothing, rare weapons and jumpsuits, and other sought-after collectibles. Some items can only be obtained through this bot, including the Clean Space Suit, Hunter's Long Coat, plans for the Cuckoo Clock, and more.
Despite not being an obtainable item itself, the wandering Vendor bot Responder possesses some great items to sell. Be sure to hit them up only after one has collected a bunch of caps, as showing up to a hard-to-find vendor with nothing to spend would be a waste of time.
6 Cultist Dagger And Blade: Found In Lucky Hole Mine
There are some interesting snippets of lore in Fallout 76, including the intricate backstory of one of the series' most frightening groups: the cult of Mothman. The story of the cult of Mothman will hopefully be expanded upon as the franchise continues (there's a lot more to come from 76 itself, after all), but until then, curious players can pick up a very special and rare souvenir in the Lucky Hole Mine.
Going deeper into the mine, players will find notes, ominous figures, candles, and an altar. In front of it, there are two cultist blades and a dagger that players can take. Other interesting collectibles in this room include a note behind the altar, explaining more of the backstory of the cult. Many players pass this obscure location by, but it's well worth the trip. It's a bit creepy, but this game does creepy very well!
Unlike the Cultist Blade that is made from Black Titanium, the Cultist Dagger can unfortunately not be crafted and will therefore need to be found by the above-mentioned method. Maybe, in a future update, Bethesda may add a crafting recipe for the Cultist Dagger, but, as of right now, those seeking this weapon will need to find it.
5 Alien Blaster: Found In Toxic Pond
The Fallout titles introduced another interesting side story in the form of aliens. The Alien Blaster pistol certainly hints at the existence of extraterrestrial life in the games. This small weapon was included in Fallout 4, but since 76's events take place earlier, it might come as a surprise that the weapon is included in the game.
Players can find this pistol to the west of Philippi Battlefield Cemetery, hidden in a container submerged in a toxic pond. Besides the weapon, players can also collect a rusted key that leads to other hidden gems. Players can find fascinating things if they step away from the sometimes confusing main quest.
Despite not doing very much energy damage with each shot, the Alien Blaster has a notable fire rate stat of 100, meaning that players will be able to unload a ton of shots into any target. Furthermore, to add insult to injury, the Alien Blaster can sometimes turn killed foes into piles of ash.
4 Alien Blaster Ammo: Found In A Bunker
Unfortunately, the Alien Blaster pistol isn't found alongside any ammo. The first step to procuring some will be journeying to the green trailer found in Ash Heap's Mt. Blair Train Yard, where the TNT Dome Key can be found in one of the lockers.
Afterward, players have to go to the hill next to Vault 76, where they'll find a bunker. The reward for this resourcefulness will be various interesting items, including the Alien Blaster ammo and the Alien Blaster Fusion Mag.
Since the Alien Blaster does not come with much ammo, it's crucial for players to seek out its ammunition in the above-mentioned manner if they actually want to use this off-world weapon. Thankfully, the extra legwork is worth it due to the Alien Blaster being both fun and satisfying to use in combat.
3 Deathclaw Gauntlet Extra Claw Plan: Open Holiday Gifts
One of the most sought-after legends in the game--some think this is just a rumor, while some have even found it. The extra claw for the Deathclaw Gauntlet is not an amazing find just because of its rarity. Attaching the mod adds 20% damage and increases the cap value by 60%, while on the more negative side, it increases the weapon's weight by 30% and takes 8 points from durability.

While the extra claw's positives are way better than its negatives, finding the plan is the real challenge. The plan for the extra claw can be obtained only through opening holiday gifts, and it's incredibly rare. The biggest frustration is in the chance of it all because players can't actually be active in the process, as they don't have any say in the matter.
The base damage of the Deathclaw Gauntlet is between 45 to 55, which is pretty high for a melee weapon of medium swing speed. On top of this, this weapon possesses a modifier that grants +10% to one's Strength stat, further increasing melee damage. In combination with the buff that can be gained from adding the Extra Claw, players can emulate the hunting method of Deathclaws in scarily accurate manners.
2 Raider Armor Plan: Complete Quests
Plans for the light, sturdy, and heavy raider armor pieces are incredibly hard to obtain thanks to their rarity. Of course, when people go for it, they want to get the best of the best: the heavy armor. All of the mentioned armor pieces have plans that have incredibly low chances of dropping from the "Single Strength", "Uranium Fever", or "Guided Meditation" quests.
The armor is incredibly strong and has a value of 170-270 caps, which can come in handy for most players. And even if they're not in it for the money and the glory, it's still an incredible find.
The Raider Armor possesses solid damage reduction versus incoming projectile weapons and even has some defense against energy attacks (though none against radiation damage), so players looking to increase their survivability would do well to pick up this rare armor if possible.
1 Bear Arm Plan: Complete The Project Paradice Event Quest
Not a lot of people know of its existence, but those who do either want it or already have it. It's not easy obtaining this weapon, but it's fairly doable and entirely worth it. Apart from looking absolutely awesome, the bear arm can cause some massive damage to anything, and it most definitely will. The plan itself was released in the Wild Appalachia update.
It is a rare drop of the "Project Paradise" event quest, but only if the player leaves all three animals alive. Leaving only two alive will make the chances even smaller, and leaving one or none destroys any chances of getting the plan. There are two additional mods that can also be obtained through the same quest and have the exact same chances of dropping. One is the puncturing mod, and the other is the heavy mod, and both make the bear arm that much stronger.
In addition to huge damage, the Bear Arm comes with some devastating effects, such as being able to cripple targets and piercing their armor. As such, gamers can prevent foes from fighting back or even defend themselves effectively from one's bestial attacks.
