— Thomas moments before killing Arthur in Chapter 1 |
Thomas Eastwood is the protagonist of Andy's Apple Farm. He was the father of Louis Eastwood and Isabella Eastwood and the husband of Kamryn Eastwood. He founded Eastwood Games and is responsible for creating the Cinema Screen Monitor Portable Computer and Andy's Apple Farm. He lived in Pumpkin County with his family.
Thomas was a struggling game developer who eventually came across a technology that would "make his characters more lifelike." He became confident in his new upcoming game, Andy's Apple Farm (formerly known as Apple Acres), and would consistently work on it.
It is heavily implied he made some kind of deal with an entity that possessed this piece of technology. It started to frequently possess Thomas, to the point he would become a workaholic and begin to endanger his family.

Biography[]
Background[]
Thomas was born on December 3, 1951. Later, on May 14, 1953, his brother Jeffrey Eastwood was born. As children, Thomas and Arthur King would become best friends.[1]
In high school, Thomas met Kamryn and had a daughter named Isabella born around 1969. Thomas and Kamryn later dropped out of high school to spend time with their daughter.[1] After finishing high school, they moved away from a city to the outskirts of Pumpkin County to gain peace and quiet,[2] where the two would most likely become married. They later had a son named Louis born on February 14, 1972.
Thomas later founded a gaming company called Eastwood Games.
1982[]
On April 13th, Thomas would make a recording documenting how his other games hadn't been accepted by publishers, so he decided to create a new game called Apple Acres (later renamed Andy's Apple Farm) and a new computer called the Cinema Screen Monitor Portable Computer (CSMPC) to run it on. Thomas mentioned using other types of technology to make the characters in the game more 'life-like,' though the recording abruptly ended before he could continue.[3]
For unknown reasons, Thomas and Kamryn would start being consistently mad at each other. Isabella hated this, causing her to seek someone who could make her parents happy again.[4] Sometime later, Louis noticed that Thomas was acting strange while working on his new creations. He would spy on Thomas through a keyhole and see that he had a "scary face".[5] Mid-late 1982, Thomas looked for beta testers to try his game.[6]
On October 14th, Louis drowned after he and his daughter Isabella fell off the boat during a ride at Lake Keystone. Thomas blamed Isabella for not helping her brother, which caused his relationship with both Isabella and his wife Kamryn to fall apart. Eventually, Kamryn couldn't stand his behavior anymore so she kicked him out of the house,[7] beginning their separation. Thomas' place of stay during this period is unknown.
Thomas would ask Arthur to look after Isabella and Kamryn for him, to which he agreed. In December, when Arthur and Thomas ate at a diner, Thomas was worried about his friend hanging too close to Kamryn, with Arthur reassuring him that he wasn't. However, he didn't respond to Thomas' question about not being a liar,[8] most likely hiding that he was sleeping with Kamryn.[9]
On December 22nd, Thomas made another recording, announcing that he discovered the CSMPC can somehow bring people back to life mentally by supposedly recording the player's personalities and memories and putting them in the computer. With this, he was able to bring his deceased son back to life and asked him to introduce himself.[10]
On December 24th, Thomas wanted to make amends with his family, bringing a present for Isabella. Unfortunately, he found that the family house burned down, which killed Kamryn. Thomas saw Arthur outside and demanded to know where his family was.[11] Thomas became enraged, and now influenced by The Entity,[12] he chased Arthur through the woods before murdering him with an axe.[13] Isabella witnessed the whole thing from the trees and fled the scene.[14] After realizing his actions, Thomas felt immense guilt and decided to take Arthur's body to his computer. The Entity would take Arthur's soul and put him in the game with Louis, likely continuing with Kamryn as well.[15]
At some point, The Entity told Thomas that Isabella witnessed Arthur's murder and that he "must find a way to end this".[16]
1983[]
On March 17th at an unknown location, Thomas attempted to confront The Entity. This failed, as he was consumed by The Entity, died, and had his soul placed in his game alongside his family and Arthur. He was turned into the main character of his game, Andy the Apple, and continued to live on through this character.[17]
1986[]
After his death, Thomas's brother, Jeffrey, continued the legacy of Eastwood Games, creating Rabbit Knight. This game was likely a ruse to fight The Entity and rescue Thomas and his family from the game. Unfortunately, however, the plan backfired and Jeffrey was killed by The Entity on August 22, 1986, and eventually placed in Andy's Apple Farm alongside Thomas.
Personality[]
Thomas was once a kind man who cared deeply for his family, judging by how he talked about his son in the Christmas Special.[6] Life was mostly content for him, though he was a struggling game developer who was starved to make a good game.[3]
However, after Louis's death and The Entity's influence, Thomas would become more hostile. He eventually became corrupted and murdered his best friend,[13] with his feelings of rage being amplified due to suspecting him of having relations with his wife.[8] However, he felt guilt over this and decided to resurrect his friend inside his video game with the rest of his family.
While possessing Andy the Apple, his actions are likely mostly controlled by the game's codes (and how the player moves him) instead of Thomas's actual emotions. Sometimes, though, lines of code show Thomas's true thoughts, saying he's sorry or wants to get out. He mostly only speaks during a cutscene, leaving some extremely awkward moments where he silently watches Thomas's distorted memories. He doesn't seem to remember when something really disturbing happens or he's shown one of Thomas's flashbacks (though only the player playing the game may see this). Andy only seems to speak "as Thomas" when he's confronted by Peter the Pumpkin,[18] during which he is scared and considers him a stranger. He shows self-awareness of his situation at one point. When Peter blames him for the death of his son, Andy deflects and says it was his fault.[18]
Relationships[]
Kamryn Eastwood[]
Kamryn and Thomas's relationship became rocky after the death of Louis. She hated Thomas for blaming Isabella for the death which led to their separation,[7] spending quite some time apart. Thomas avoided her but loved his family enough to send Arthur to do check-ups on them. Kamryn's faithfulness to her husband is questionable, given that she had Arthur over for Christmas and had an affair with him.[9]
Isabella Eastwood[]
Isabella and Thomas once seemingly had a good relationship, given the miniature barn in Thomas's basem*nt was made by him and Isabella for a school project.[19] After Louis's death, Thomas blamed Isabella for his death. Like Kamryn, he didn't see her for a while but sent Arthur for check-ups. Isabella missed her old family and wanted her dad to come back, despite him blaming her.[20] Thomas was remorseful about his actions towards her, even buying her a present, but unfortunately never got the chance to since he thought she died in the house fire.[11] Isabella survived, however, and was extremely traumatized when she saw her father murder Arthur with an axe. At the police station, she was unable to speak of what her father had done, instead asking the police to look at the cameras.[21]
Louis Eastwood[]
Thomas loved Louis very much and talks fondly of him, mentioning his love for Christmas in his game.[6] At some point, Louis noticed Thomas's odd behavior and made drawings of his dad's "scary face."[5] He was understandably extremely devastated when Louis died. Unable to accept his death, Thomas, at some point, took his body and placed it in the CSMPC,[18] interacting with his son through the computer.[10]
Arthur King[]
Arthur and Thomas were best friends and likely frequently drank together.[7] Arthur showed loyalty and respect to Thomas. They were close enough to where Thomas would send him to do check-ups on his family.[8] Though grateful towards him, Thomas also became worried Arthur was getting too close to his wife, not knowing that the two were sleeping together.[8][9] After seeing his house get burned down, he killed Arthur in a fit of rage,[13] combined with The Entity's possession,[12] instantly regretting it.
Jeffrey Eastwood[]
Though they are never seen interacting, Jeffrey and Thomas seemingly have a close relationship. Jeffrey continued on the legacy of Eastwood Games likely in an attempt to defeat The Entity and save Thomas's family.
